Colours of Love as Omolara Weds Opeyemi

 

I took a picture of them on our first meeting to discuss their wedding at a coffee shop in Lekki phase I. Two jolly friends, soft and focused. Omolara and Ope made planning much easier as both involved knew exactly what they wanted. In short meetings and discussions we were able to pen all activities and set each factors in motion. Planning for over 2000 guests could be tasking and overwhelming yet each guest enjoyed the lofty of being special at the occasion. On Friday, 11th and  Saturday, 12th of October, 2013, the entire ancient city of Ife and most especially the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife both in Osun State experienced a novelty engagement and wedding ceremony respectively between Omolara Olusola, Product Manager, Jumia.com.ng, daughter to Mr. & Mrs. C.A Ajele and Opeyemi Oluwatobi, Founder "Jobberman.com" and son to the present Registrar of OAU Mr. & Mrs. D.O Awoyemi.

Omolara  and Opeyemi are typical examples of my last post "married to a best friend". If any of my reader has ever lived on the University campus quarters of any school, you will easily visualize the line of love Opeyemi must have written to win Omolara to himself. But don’t be surprised cause you are so wrong #wink# Opeyemi met Omolara in a church his dad pastored, little do we know what spiritual sight can reveal to a man who wears a bold heart of Love. Friends for about 10 years and dated close to 6 years. Though distanced by university of choice yet stronger by every sheared breath.

The misery was let loosed when Opeyemi asked the bold question on 19th of September, 2012 when omolara's lunch order failed at work, she quickly called her heart robe to tell him of it, as sweet as Ope could be, he requested they both have the lunch at "The Place" Lekki, he insisted they seat at the lounge upstairs which is so unusual of him and ordered same meal as Omolara. Omolara feeling so cute as all attention was drawn to her by the attendant, she went ahead to order for chapman...........the first thing I noticed was the rough cucumber on the cup, I told him (Ope) I won't eat the cucumber as I would have normally done. There were two cucumber slices, he ate one and from my cup and I looked closely at the second cucumber........and there was the ring, placed neatly on the cucumber. Next thing, he was on one knee, saying things I can’t remember now, and all the people in the bar were cheering and clapping and laughing really loud, like they all knew what I did not.

The word WIFE suddenly made all the sense to me. I saw my future immediately, I cried ( they were tears of surprise and joy) and I said YES, and that was when I knew I'll become a bride sooner than I thought............(by Omolara)
